The telnet: URL scheme
allows for specifying a
password to log in with.  PuTTY doesn't currently support this.
PuTTY should at least be capable of ignoring it if it's present.

SGT, 2024-11-17: classifying this bug as historic. Telnet is old-fashioned now, so this is probably no longer important.
